LaSalle County awarded nearly $75,000 from the Illinois Travel and Tourism Grant Program

OTTAWA – LaSalle County was awarded nearly $75,000 from the state of Illinois Travel and Tourism Grant Program. Funded by a federal Economic Development Administration grant, over 50 grantees statewide received a portion of the $2.9 million available. The program provides funding for public and private groups to attract visitors to destinations throughout Illinois. State Representative Lance Yednock was pleased with the announcement.

“Thanks to Illinois’ unmatched tourism marketing campaigns, locals aren’t the only ones who know about the sought-after destinations and hidden gems in every corner of the state,” said the Ottawa Democrat. “The dollars awarded to DeKalb, LaSalle County and Ottawa in the latest round of tourism funding are essential to encouraging trips to Illinois while ensuring local economies benefit from the uptick in visitors.”
