EUREKA – The Woodford County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public that residents are receiving calls from persons claiming to be law enforcement and demanding payment. In many cases, the caller tells the victim that they have a warrant for their arrest and that they need to pay their bond over the phone or be arrested. The Sheriff’s Office notes that they will never call you to demand payment for a bond. Authorities say you should be aware of any type of call where the caller is demanding funds. They also say that you should never give any information to anyone you do not know or do business with.
