OTTAWA – LaSalle County and the state of Illinois saw record coronavirus cases reported on Saturday. The LaSalle County Health Department says 57 people tested positive in the past 24 hours for the novel coronavirus, while the state reports 6,161 new cases. While no new deaths were reported in LaSalle County, 63 people were reported to have died from complications from Covid-19 in the state. The state’s Saturday total smashed the previous record of 5300 cases on September 4th, while the county total is higher by 3 cases of the 54 reported back on August 13th.
