The Ottawa Police Benevolent & Protective Association Unit #18 will be conducting their annual fundraising effort. As in the past, they will promote their fundraising drive with a Back to School Shopping project in mid August. This special project is designed to provide the less fortunate children who attend school within our community with basic items needed to attend school.
The Ottawa PB & PA Back to School project is aimed to promote positive relations amongst the youth and officers of the agency. Each year during our Back to School Shopping Program they aim to take as many children shopping as possible. Each child they take receives $100 and the opportunity to be accompanied by a Police Officer while shopping for essential school supplies at the Ottawa Wal-Mart Store.
100% of the proceeds from this year’s fundraiser will benefit the community and support the Ottawa PB & PA Unit #18’s Back to School Shopping Program and other charitable activities. These activities include various area youth activities, general operation activities, and numerous other charitable projects.
The successful efforts of the Ottawa PB & PA are dependent upon the generosity and involvement of the resident and businesses in the community. Without it, they would have had a hard time reaching out to the children and the community through the various programs they support with donations.
Donations can be mailed to the police department or dropped off. Arrangements can also be made to have the donation picked up at an area residence by contacting either name listed below at the Ottawa Police Department.
Anyone with questions or concerns can contact the Ottawa Police Department to verify the legitimacy of this fundraiser.
Thank you in advance for all your help.
