Terror in the Prairie

The public is invited to a historical re-enactment cemetery tour “Terror on the Prairie” presented by Friends of the Dayton Bluffs on Sunday, October 17th at 2 and 4pm. Space is limited to 20 for each showing at the Daniels Cemetery at Dayton Bluffs Preserve in Ottawa, IL. Interested individuals must RSVP by October 15th to David Manigold at 815-488-1010. A charitable donation of $10 is recommended and will be applied to the restoration of Dayton Bluffs Preserve.

Perfectly Flawed Foundation Narcan Training

In response to persistently high overdose rates throughout LaSalle and Bureau Counties, two local establishments have teamed up with local community-based nonprofit The Perfectly Flawed Foundation to provide free community training for the administration of naloxone, a nasal medication used to treat known or suspected opioid overdose.    Sanctuary (125 Hennepin St., LaSalle) and Jack’s Tap (129 E Devlin St., Spring Valley) will each host a 60-minute training this October in partnership with staff at The Perfectly Flawed Foundation.   …

LaSalle Oktoberfest Block Party

The City of LaSalle has blocked Hennepin Street from 1st to the mid-block alley to accommodate an Oktoberfest block party hosted by local bar Sanctuary. The event will feature free kids’ activities, a beer garden, and German food to purchase. Sinetos Family Breast Cancer Benefit

A Breast Cancer Benefit for the Sinetos Family will be held Sunday, September 26th from 1-5pm at Shabbona County Park. Tickets are $10 for kids and $20 for adults for the pig roast and includes a $2 drink ticket. All donations are going towards Kristal Sinetos’s medical bills and to help her family.
