First 5K Run/Walk through Dayton Bluffs Preserve in Ottawa

The first 5K Run/Walk at Dayton Bluffs Preserve in Ottawa on Saturday, September 29 from 8 to 11 a.m. will take participants through the prairies and woodlands of this pristine preserve located on the Fox River.
 
The Run/Walk is limited to 150 registrants, who each will receive a race t-shirt, water, and a medal of participation. The top three overall male and female winners will receive special recognition. Food will be available for purchase after the race on site.

The race is made possible with the support of Holloway Portable Restrooms, Hank’s Farm, and the city of Ottawa.
 
This 253-acre preserve is owned by The Conservation Foundation and leased to the city of Ottawa. The preserve has more than a mile of Fox River frontage and includes unique geological features, multiple ravines, and several prehistoric archeological sites.
 
Dayton Bluffs Preserve is located at 2997 IL Route 71, Ottawa 61350, between the I-80 interchange and north of Hank’s Farm Restaurant. Email the race director (daytonbluffs5k@gmail.com) with any questions about the run/walk.
 
The Conservation Foundation is one of the region’s oldest and largest not-for-profit land and watershed conservation organizations, with more than 4,000 members.
