LASALLE-PERU — LP’s division one co-op rugby team will kick off their first full season tonight at Triton College against Fenwick High School starting at 7 PM. The team consists of eight LP students, one Ottawa Marquette student, one Kewanee Weathersfield student, and 10 students from Plainfield. All local students are welcome to join the program.
The program is growing with a youth club that was started in 2019, LP anticipates eight players to come up as freshmen next year from the program to help grow the team. Their next game will be held at the Chicago Lions for Hope Center in Chicago on Saturday at 9:30 AM. Their first home game of the season will be held on April 12th at 6 PM.
