Forward Jordan Greenway agrees to three-year, $9 million contract with Minnesota Wild

On Monday, forward Jordan Greenway agreed to a three-year, $9 million contract with the Minnesota Wild.  The 24-year-old was in the final season of a two-year, $4.2 million contract he signed in Oct. 2020, and could have been a restricted free agent after the season.

Wild general manager Bill Guerin said: “Jordan’s play over the last couple months has really been great. The way he’s been a big part of that line with [Joel] Eriksson Ek and [Marcus] Foligno is something that we want to keep around. And we’ve seen a growth in Jordan over the last couple years that we feel will continue and Jordan will keep getting better and better. This is a place he’s expressed that he’s comfortable, he wants to be here, he believes in what he’s doing. And we believe in Jordan and the direction that he’s going. We are extremely happy to have him back for three more years.”

Greenway has scored 13 points in 33 games for the Wild (27-10-3), who are third in the Central Division, and play their final game before the break for 2022 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend at the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday. Greenway has scored 98 points (30 goals, 68 assists) in 243 regular-season games and five points in 16 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
