SPRINGFIELD – 9,757 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 were confirmed by the Illinois Department of Public Health, along with 238 additional deaths. The state is currently reporting a total of 748,603 cases since the start of the pandemic with 12,639 deaths. As of Tuesday evening, 5,764 individuals in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19 with 1,190 of those in the ICU.
