OTTAWA – OSF HealthCare has continued to expand women’s health services in Ottawa. OSF HealthCare Medical Group Obstetrics/Gynecology – Ottawa office, newly opened this past April, is now offering a Maternal-Fetal Medicine clinic.
Maternal-Fetal Medicine is a subspecialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology that focuses on complex pregnancies. Women in need of this service would travel to the Maternal Fetal Diagnostic Center at OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria for treatment.
“Thanks to the breadth of OSF HealthCare and our coordinated network of providers, we’ve been able to leverage the expertise offered in Peoria and deliver it weekly to patients in Ottawa and surrounding communities,” said Dr. Brian Rosborough, Chief Medical Officer at OSF HealthCare Saint Elizabeth Medical Center. “This clinic allows for improved continuity of care for mothers with high-risk pregnancies.”
For added convenience to local patients, the Maternal Fetal Medicine clinic, staffed by Doctors Michael Leonardi and Yolanda Renfroe, is open weekly. The providers specialize in:
- Caring for multiple-birth pregnancies
- Advanced maternal age pregnancies
- Screening for fetal abnormalities/birth defects
- Caring for expectant moms with co-morbidities
- Caring for mothers with diabetes while pregnant
