Thank you for helping make Coats for Kids coat collection drive a huge success. Our community raised over 400 coats for area children and families in need. Coats for Kids was sponsored by McDonald's in Peru, Oglesby, Streator and Ottawa.

Hundreds turned out for The Radio Group Bridal Expo on Sunday, Sept. 16, at Senica's Oak Ridge Banquet Facility. The expo featured everyhing needed for the perfect wedding, from flowers to photographers, cakes to caterers.

The WGLC/Q 97.7 & 103.3 Idol Contest was held Thursday, Aug. 9, during the 65th annual Mendota Sweet Corn Festival. The show was hosted by Sloppy Joe, host of WGLC Morning Show, and Dave Patrick, host of Q More Music Mornings, and featured children ages 5 to 15 from the area.

The WALLS 102 Texaco Country Showdown at Starved Rock Lodge is now underway. Don't miss this local singing competition, where one lucky contestant will win $1,000!

Dog and Daisy took The Morning Doghouse on the road for Friday the 13, and broadcast the entire show live from HyVee Gas in Peru. The live broadcast conitnued during the Cops for Cancer event, which immediately followed The Morning Doghouse.

Battle of the Books at Peru Mall continues every Tuesday through July 10, in center court from 11 until noon. Bring the kids and enjoy great books from The Book Mouse, read by our own DJs. Plus, you'll have a chance to win tickets to one of three water parks.

Sloppy Joe broadcast live Saturday, April 28, from Brothers Country Supply in Ottawa. The store was selling baby chicks and ducks, so it seemed only fitting the WALLS 102 chicken joined Joe for the broadcast.

Q Home, Lawn and Garden show was held March 3 and 4, 2012 at Peru Mall. The show featured a variety of vendors and large crowds.
